Project Run and Play: the Knot dress

Last month I skipped the project Run and Play challenge, but this month I’m back!

This months pattern on project Run and Play is the Knot Dress by Jessica from Me Sew Crazy.  You should check out her blog, she does some amazing stuff!

Look mama, what a cute dress!

The pattern is size 2 up to 6 with the option

of a matching doll dress. It’s an easy pattern to follow and execute.

I upcycled an old polkadot shirt of mine to this cute summerdress. I used stretchy fabric instead of cotton, so I wondered if that would work. It actually did and gives our little one more room to move.

I really like how the dress turned out. The only thing I would change if I make another one

is het width of the straps. They are a bit out of proportion for a size 2.

    • Thank you! I saw you nautical dresses, they look amazing. I really like the one with the button in the back, that way it’s not to bulky.

  1. I agree with you. I narrowed the width of the ties even for a size 6. If they are too thick they are hard to tie into a knot that lays closer to the garment and isn’t too heavy. I enjoy recycling fabric too, and this dress turned out so cute. I like the layered dotted layer in contrast with the solid white.

  2. I love polka dot fabrics. The combination of black and white always work and your dress turned out adorable!
